The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Is in Macomb

The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross doesn’t reinvent Toyota’s compact SUV, but it does make some worthwhile updates. Toyota has given it new styling, updated technology, and a few interior improvements while keeping the choice between a gas engine and a hybrid. If you’re shopping for a practical compact SUV, it’s worth seeing what changed for 2026.

Updated Styling Inside and Out 

One of the biggest changes this year is the front-end design. Hybrid and gas models no longer look exactly alike. The hybrid gets a body-colored front fascia with a cleaner, more modern look, while gas models have a bolder grille that gives them a little more attitude. Toyota is also adding Cavalry Blue to the color palette, including a two-tone Cavalry Blue and Jet Black roof combination on the Hybrid SE and XSE. There are new wheel designs as well, including 18-inch alloy wheels with a dark gray metallic finish and machined accents on the XLE. 

A More Practical Interior 

Toyota also made a few changes inside. The front console has been redesigned to create more usable storage, and higher trims now come standard with a 10.5-inch touchscreen. L, LE, S, and SE models use an 8-inch display, but every Corolla Cross includes Toyota Audio Multimedia, wireless Apple CarPlay®, and wireless Android Auto™. Move up to the XLE and you’ll get SofTex®-trimmed seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and the option of a nine-speaker JBL® Premium Audio system. USB-C charging is easier to find throughout the cabin this year. Two front USB Type-C ports come standard, while LE, SE, XLE, and XSE models also add two more ports for rear-seat passengers. Wireless phone charging is included on those same trims. 

Gas or Hybrid? 

The Corolla Cross is still available with two different powertrains, so you can decide what fits your driving habits. The hybrid pairs Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and three electric motors to produce 196 horsepower. Every hybrid comes standard with Electronic On-Demand AWD and is rated at an EPA-estimated 46 city, 39 highway, and 42 MPG combined. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 1,500 lbs. 

Gas models use a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine producing 169 horsepower and 151 lbs. ft. of torque. It’s paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission with intelligence and Shift Mode (CVTi-S). FWD comes standard, while AWD is available. FWD models return an EPA-estimated 32 MPG combined and can also tow up to 1,500 lbs. when properly equipped. 

Safety Comes Standard 

Every 2026 Corolla Cross comes with Toyota Safety Sense™ 3.0 and the STAR Safety System. That includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Proactive Driving Assist, and other standard driver-assistance features. The XLE also adds Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking, and every Corolla Cross comes equipped with nine airbags. 

Warranty Coverage 

Toyota includes a 36-month/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 60-month/60,000-mile powertrain warranty with every Corolla Cross. Hybrid components are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles, while the hybrid battery is backed for 10 years or 150,000 miles. Every new Corolla Cross also includes ToyotaCare, which covers factory-scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, along with two years of Roadside Assistance.
